THE magic wore off before the fucking stopped. Raymond was positive of that much. He didn’t really mind though because he’d decided the fucking was great, and then resting in a nice warm bed afterward was great, and having Dominay there beside him, rubbing his warm hand over Raymond’s chest was great.

Having his thoughts clear and his memories sharp and precise in his head was even better than great.

“What’s this big secret you’re keeping from me?” he asked, not even bothering to look at Dominay.

Dominay patted his stomach in a very patronizing way. That got Raymond’s attention. Suddenly things didn’t feel so great anymore.

“Don’t worry about it right now. We have other things to deal with.”

“Huh.” Raymond stared up at the high ceiling and contemplated his options.

“These attacks, I want to figure out who kidnapped you and me and what their intent was.”

“An experiment,” Raymond said. “I got into the heads of several of them. One had a pretty strong block in place, but he admitted the reason I’d been kidnapped was to experiment with my thought magic to see if I could influence you Yeeru.”

“Ah.”

“Guess the answer’s no.”

Raymond looked over at Dominay finally to see Dominay frowning.

“What do you mean?” Dominay said, rising up on his elbow and staring at Raymond.

“I mean every time my magic gets near you, it just washes around you like you don’t exist.”

“That could be because of—something else.” Dominay abruptly rolled back and sat up on the side of the bed, looking over his shoulder at Raymond. “Haven’t you ever tried to use your magic on a Yeeru before?”

Raymond sat up. “I don’t remember. Not that clear up here.” He tapped his temple.

Dominay eyed him and then said, “Let’s get food.”

“I’m not hungry.” His stomach growled and Dominay’s frown became a scowl.

“Alright. I’m hungry. But I want to know what the hell you’re hiding from me.”

Dominay rolled his shoulders and changed the subject. “Much as I enjoyed fucking you, I’m not thrilled that it happened here in my brother’s home under the influence of Gregory’s magic. So keep your magic under control around them. Gregory’s been having some trouble with his magic lately. Doesn’t take a lot to set it off.”

“Sounds like you’re speaking from experience.”

“Too much.”

Raymond laughed.

“It really wasn’t funny at the time. Horrifying is more like it.”

“Bet Gregory laughed.”

Dominay scowled at him. “Of course he did. That man and his cock magic is a menace.”

Raymond had a hard time keeping a straight face. “Cock magic?”

“I’ve noticed a distinct pattern with magic. You humans call it by the method of delivery but it’s obvious when you think about it that the magic originates in a very specific part of your human bodies depending on the type.
